You are a week out from your international vacation and guess what?
Your kid’s schedule is still hectic, the laundry still has to get done and your work isn’t going to get done on its own! Sometimes it feels like we actually need a vacation from a vacation after all of the packing and preparation it takes as parents to just simply get on the damn airplane.
While preparing for our first big International trip, I have kept a little black book handy to jot down those, “yikes, don’t forget” moments. Checklists are a mom’s best friend so I created this handy dandy version so you can download and use it yourself!
Around a decade ago, I went to visit my family for the first time who had built a home in the town of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, Belize nearly 18 years before I arrived. Since then I have regularly returned to the island paradise that I now consider our second home.
Here are 7 reasons why we absolutely love San Pedro, Belize and recommend you visit Belize’s largest and most beautiful off-shore island!
I along with many other parents, go back and forth on how we feel about the digital gadgets being used by our precious little humans. Some of you all may not consider this brag-worthy, but my 5-year-old doesn’t have an iPad… And yes, we travel! Since she was tiny, I have limited the amount of access that she has to screen time, soshe really doesn’t know what she is missing! Don’t get me wrong, I do think there are many great games and activities on iPads that help children learn nowadays vs. watching an episode of Barbie or Paw Patrol. However, I have found anti-screen parenting keeps me more engaged with her and we end up spending more time talking and learning vs. being glued to our screens while we fly the friendly yet boring skys. Confession: You may find an open glue stick nestled in with Goldfish and a loose tampon at the bottom of my Fendi bag … We aren’t here to judge, folks.
